Hi, I’m Kara. I’m a proud RIT photojournalism alum, having earned my BFA in Photojournalism in May 2025. I recently moved back to the tundra of upstate New York after working as a photography intern at the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
I grew up surrounded by dysfunction, which made me observant, curious, and deeply attuned to people. That experience shaped how I see the world and informs my approach to photography. My passion lies in building meaningful, empathetic connections with the people I photograph, allowing me to tell stories that are authentic, creative, and rooted in trust.
When I’m not working, I enjoy painting, making collages (junk journaling!!), taking long walks, going to the movies, listening to the Grateful Dead, and spending time with my Maine Coon, Goose.
